New Release: Twelve Easy Pieces for the Piano
This new album of music for beginning pianists will be released by Jendo Press on November 1, 2010. The composer is Mikako Endo (B.A. from Tokyo Gakugei University, MM from San Francisco Conservatory of Music) has been teaching piano for two decades, and these twelve pieces are examples of what she’s been writing for her students. They are short and easy enough for beginning pianists to play, but unlike traditional method books, they are not limited by a fixed finger position. The composer points out that “pianists need to think beyond the fixed finger position and experience various kinds of musical expression from the very beginning”. This is just as important as following the usual step-by-step methods devised to develop specific technical skills. These twelve easy pieces are fun, imaginative and help pianists to express themselves musically.
Spiral bound; 18 pages of music; 28cm. The retail price is U.S. $10.95.
